Mercury (Amalgram Filling) Poison
Posted on 2010-12-28 20:06:55
Mercury toxicity is no secret when it comes to the cause of illness and disease. In July 2009, the FDA reviewed scientific evidence regarding the serious health hazards caused by having mercury based fillings resting in the mouths of millions of Americans.
And although the FDA made a change eighteen months ago to reclassify amalgam fillings from Class I (no risk) medical devices to Class II (more risk) medical devices, it is still not enough protection for the American public. Four consumer advocacy groups petitioned the FDA to reconsider the evidence and ban the use of amalgam fillings just as other European countries have already done (Mercury fillings are also restricted in Germany, Sweden and Denmark). Finally, as of December 10, 2010, the FDA is actually considering this ban.
Though
disappointing to many, it is easy enough to restrict our intake of fish, toxic vapors are released from amalgam dental fillings 24
hours a day, 365 days per year. This mercury vapor is released into your
blood stream and carried to every cell in our body - including those of
the brain.
A "silver" filling, or dental amalgam, is actually composed of 50% mercury. At the turn of the 21st century 90% of dentists were still using amalgams for restoring posterior teeth -- yet people who have amalgam fillings exceed the allowances for occupational exposure to mercury for all European and North American countries. Adults with four or more amalgams run significant risk from the fillings, while as few as two amalgams may contribute to problems in children.
According to numerous scientific studies, including those from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), fillings release a toxic mercury vapor which travels throughout the body depositing in vital organs throughout.
